According to site information as of Volume 11 of Oto Nyan, the magazine will be going on temporary suspension/Hiatus. What that means according to Hachimitsu scans who I asked to find out what occurred the hiatius/suspension of magazine distribution is an effort for oto nyan to rework itself basically rework delivery, format and so forth. For example the Oto Nyan volume 11 I received today is the size of graphic novel being bigger than a manga tank in size instead of its usual larger magazine size like waai magazine. Ok so with Oto nyan going on suspension how does this affect you guys, for now it doesnt affect us, because based on the scans alone we are only at volume 8 and we still have volume 9, 10 and 11 worth of content meaning we still have a total of 4 volumes of manga trap content and I as well read that Oto Nyan may be exploring digital distribution because some of the manga stories will end or continue online in a digital release according to volume 11 while some of the other manga ended in volume 11. How does all this affect us for now we are good we are only at volume 8 in scans that is 17 manga stories, one shots and 4 komas and that's only volume 8 we still have alot more content to explore in the upcoming volume 9, 10, 11 scans. So for now we can pretend that news of volume 11 has not hit us yet and wait for it to affect us once we do volume 11 scans, so since we are only at 8 we are good and dont worry in volume 11 many of the stories we are exploring that are ongoing do get great endings or will be continued online digitally.
Speaking of Oto Nyan, is there any chance you could release scans of the colour illustrations from all these volumes? Hachimitsu has an archive of these but they only have three volumes' worth.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to the color illustrations I am the one who scanned those for hachimitsu, when it comes to the color galleries I personally dont want to release those because they push to much the boundary of child pedo and I live in US the last thing I need to be posting is art illustrations of children with their balls hanging out, oto nyan is a bit raunchy when it comes those illustrations

Would them switching to digital distribution for certain stories be a good thing or would it be a bad thing?...
ReplyDeleteWell we wont know for a while hachimitsu thinks they are maybe changing format or restructuring something, he believes they will returns, but one thing that is good we are only on volume 8 of oto nyan so we wont be affected by the hiatus till after we are done with 11 and hopefully they will either be digital or releasing again.
DeleteOh, I just thought it could be a bad thing since I don't think they would go releasing it in a way that provides you with files that you download. Since it would make it far too easy to people to just get it without having to buy it. So I became worried that such a possibility could prevent you guys from doing any future volumes of Oto Nyan.

DeleteOtonyan has a bi-monthly sister publication (200pg tank type o' things) that is at Vol.9 right now (new one on June 14th)

There is also another recent Otonyan anthology, Imouto(Otouto) so that makes it 10.
