    2. The evil laugh at the end was such a shocker, okay, so I thought a little that oh, Nanaura is such a nice guy when he's together with Maki, maybe he cant be a bad guy afterall? Then at the and, goodness, such a disgusting laughter, like, I just fooled everybody, arent they just the most moronic people on earth! Oh my, I cant almost wait for next chap already, but dont worry, i sort of know how to handle some patience and wont flood you with "hurry up" mails. Just who could be the culprit? I like Zeze already, i dont want him to turn into an enemy. This cant be. I dont wish prince Eugene to be an enemy too, but maybe he really is. This is sort of sad. :( More impostantly, who is the betrayer among the group. Rawr. BnK is just too fantastic of a read. Thanks for bringing it to us. Honest.

    2. of course it did! I was literally like "NOOO!!!!" I really REALLY look forward to the next one. I think he really may be Lucas. But wow, his acting is quiet something! That's talent alright, lol, but then again, lying and acting like that can become easier when done lots of time, so I bet he'll be the main enemy of this series. Ah! I can't wait to find out though! ><

  3. Thank you very much! great release ^ ^
Also i find it funny the confidence of minami that rida is the follow the books kind. Never thinking that veronica and glen aren't lover pfft *snort* how wrong is he Lol~
Nanaura is playing his role as a villain perfectly. but how does he know those things about cotton? In the end it really seems like it isn't him. So really he's just taking the role of cotton but he's someone else? ..oh man i hope minami realizes this...

    1. Think about this how did he know what was discussed in the private meeting, there must be a spy in the group that told him his story was lacking, who was the person who filled him in on the info from the secret meeting

  4. I'm shrieking here, bless you all for posting this beautiful chapter and keep 'em coming. At your own pace, of course!

As for reactions, my primary one is "NANAURAAAAAAA!!", coupled with some fist-shaking. He had me tricked the whole time and I was so disappointed that he was exactly as honest and straightforward as he appeared and then that last page completely threw me! He's definitely Lucas, since he was present for that "memory" of Cotton's (although so was Glen but wouldn't Glen know better than to imply their lover's status when he knew he told Cotton? How did he find out anyway!!), and he probably took Cotton's identity because he knew that boy was killed by the sword and wouldn't reincarnate aaaaaaghakl I'm sticking with this theory even if it makes my heart ache.

Also I feel so awful for Teshimano having to remember his death all over again, talk about traumatic. Though that sequence was admittedly amazing, Veronica kicked serious ass, and I guess it more-or-less confirms what everyone already knew: That Lucas was a Bad Guy and Prince Eugene probably was too. Unless it's a frame-up but I don't think it is because who else is there to blame!

I still think Zeze is Glen suppressing his memories because he betrayed Veronica and felt awful about it. (I don't really know why I think this; it just seems that Glen's "relationship" with Veronica gets brought up so often that it HAS to be inverted.) There aren't a lot of candidates for Prince Eugene left, though I hope he's one of the characters already established because it'd be kind of a letdown if they introduce more characters. I'm kind of gunning for him being Kamioka since she was the one who lead Minami to discover magic, and that throwaway line in the prologue about her being his "prince" is too good to pass up as foreshadowing. That, and Minami will lose his last bastion of reality which would be great for playing up drama. It seems unlikely though, and anyway I really like Kamioka as she is. But then I'm running out of available characters.

On a side note I kind of like how Ooki and Maki are being fleshed out as characters. I wasn't really keen on their introduction, mostly because I was having a hard time keeping track of names and alliances even with the flowchart, but I really enjoyed their scene together. Takao sure has some competition though.

Anyway thanks so much again you guys! Love your work and I'm looking forward to your next release!

    1. Im getting the feeling maki is not really the bad guy even though in the begining when she was first introduced I thought she was bad but than you think about it she is spending alot of time trying to make allies to inscribe her powers and increase them, but for some reason I dont think its for bad but for another purpose which has yet to be explained

      Delete
    2. I have a weird theory I think Maki is really glen acting as a priest that is why maki is so concerned with getting allies and increasing her power and her initial liking of minami, and I think two face nanoura is lucus the priest, my theory

      Delete
    3. Yeah I get that feeling too. I mean even if it's just to know if she can do it, that's not really bad is it? That's just sneaking around behind Ootomo's back. And as much as I like Ootomo he really is like that overly hardworking guy who you're in a project with who wouldn't trust you to use scissors without stabbing yourself so I can see why she'd want to break away from him and find people who aren't so stuck in the past.

      I can see Nanaura manipulating her into doing something horrible though. ; - ;

    4. If Zeze is the Prince, and he knows who Lucas is (Nanaura), then it is possible the two are working together even in this world. Zeze was at the meeting and lives alone, it's a great way to pass info along without being really weird around family (another reason he doesn't want meetings at his place). He also is really interested in Veronica, since he was married to her before and faced off against her in that fight.

Nanaura sounded like he was lying during that story and I wasn't buying it, since it's easy enough to hear things at a public place like a pub, where the squires often gathered. Remembering things in pieces sounded like a lie right away.

Now I'm excited for the next chapter, but the wait will be well worth it. :D

    5. wow,...awesome!! thats theory is so good njmanga (im never thing about glen hide his identity)
and about a teori, even teshimano say he saw prince and lucas together
i dont think prince is a enmy
coz memory about that time is still blur
suppose if it is true prince is the enemy
teshimano should follow the prince, instead of being attacked by fellow prince
*i want to go with my intuition, because this manga can break our theory easily with just one chptr.

  5. The end was shocking. At first, okay he's a bad guy but after minami and hiroki interrogate him, in the end there was nanaura's moment of triumph. He really is two-faced....
Near the end it was minami and hiroki who said his alibi didn't check out right?
What's surprising is minami was trying to see if he knows what cotton knows, in the end nanaura did know part of what cotton knows. So if he isn't really cotton how did he(nanura) know what cotton knows in the past? Its somewhat a bit confusing. He really knows how to get away that slippery snake...
Oh man i expect great things from minami to catch this liar *grumble*grumble*

    1. Exactly! When I saw the last page, I was like "F***!" He's a pro! An actor! I'm thinking he could really be Lucas. Damn him!

And thank goodness Teshimano remembered about the past. Otherwise they will be falling into Nanaura's trap.

  10. How does this series manage to stay so amazing and intense with every new chapter? I'll never say thank you enough to the team for working on it!

Minami continues to impress; I really like how he was subtly testing his allies even though he knew how the others might find that distasteful. Zeze is still really interesting: whether he remembers more than he says or not, hic point of view on the situation is pretty refreshing. And poor Teshimano... But at least he got a great view as the last thing he saw...

Nanaura. Yeah, Nanaura. What's his game? Things do seem to be pointing to his being Lucas but then how did he know that he was safe in saying he was Cotton? Did Cotton not die by magic? And why did he get so upset over the past - as was pointed out in the chapter? And this may not be important but how did he know to bring up that the squires knew Glen and Veronica weren't lovers? Only the day before, he was saying they were so did he get a warning that Harusumi and co. now knew the real story? Or was it just luck and intuition and he's just really on his guard and good at picking up on signs?

I love that the author is picking up on that remark back in volume 1 that he liked Maki: now that's forward planning!

Maki is another interesting one. She's got to be church or she wouldn't be attempting the 'engraving of new spells' ritual, right? Unless she plans to keep postponing the ceremony. I wonder if her distruss of others also comes from trauma from the past.

Some characters come off as a little shady but honestly, no one so far strikes me as truly evil or even as having particularly bad motives. It seems that past or present, there are just a lot of conflicting interests and loyalties. This series does an amazing job of portraying the different sides of each character.

And while I'm at it, yay for Nishina!

  11. Unrelated to the chapter (which is quality btw, thanks a million) but I was thinking about buying the deluxe versions of Vol. 6 and 7. I’m on the fence about it since I can't read Japanese very well and it’s mostly just so I can get my hands on the drama CDs, so I was wondering if whoever buys your raws got that version? And if so, would you mind telling me about the quality of the CDs like which volumes they cover and how the voice acting is? Jun Fukuyama tends to be really hit or miss with me so I'm wondering how he handled Minami. Thanks so much in advance!

(Shipping to my address would be almost $50 so I’m kind of on the fence about where to blow my holiday money.)

  12. Hehehe... glad you all liked it!

Yeah, money's on Nanaura being Lucas... as for how he came to know about Glen and Victoria as well as what transpired at the whole drinking party... I'd say either he listened in but only acted like he was just coming by OR there is a spy in the group... but money's on serial killer-looking Lucas listening in... it could be his magic, you know?

But yeah, glad you all enjoyed it and here's hoping the mystery gets clearer in chapter 19 onwards!

  13. I recently (like last night, read all 18 chapters in one go) got hooked onto this manga and I have to say, THANK YOU SO MUCH! for bringing this awesome manga to readers like me ^^

I can't believe the last page left such a cliffhanger! Can't wait for the next chapter to dispel some of the mystery~ Again, thank you so much!!! <3

  14. I'm really suspicious of Zeze and Tsuzuki right now. Nanaura's "memory" of Cotton complaining that they had to train just to guard some palace in the middle of nowhere is part of Tsuzuki's flashback, and seems to occur pre-Lucas too (because those priests showed up some time after the squires), so only Zerestrians would have known about this and, more specifically, the only one's listening other than Aubrey/Tsuzuki were Glen and Bart. Hiroki would never sell them out, we still don't know who Glen is, if he's anybody at all, and the other Zerestrians part of Minami's group are Takao and Meguro who are loyal to a fault.

However, I could see Tsuzuki being the type who could (maybe accidentally) give them away if Nanaura pressed him. And Zeze is just kind of a wildcard to me, even if I find him really likable and sincere and definitely has an interesting dynamic with the rest of the cast, being the most objective about their situation. But that's what I thought about Nanaura up until now ARHG.

Or maybe nobody's a traitor and off-screen one of them approached him before Minami and Hiroki could. That let him know they were on his trail, and he was able to bluff his way out of that encounter so he was ready for Minami when he came.

Thinking about this is getting me dizzy! I'll just wait for the next release to pick everything apart. Thanks so much for your hard work guys, the chapters always come up beautifully.

  17. Another possibility about who Nanaura could be besides the priest, Lucas, could be if he was Glen. I think its unlikely, but hey, he would have the feelings of a knight and would know that Veronica & Glen weren't an item. Also, Nanaura and Glen both seem to have a laid-back attitude . . . It's unlikely Nanaura is Glen, but the mangaka does seem to be giving us some wild twists! Thank you so much for scanlating this awesome series!

  18. No spoilers? So....difficult-- If anything, I'd say page 21 of this chapter is pretty damn important in the long run of things. I can pick off three things there that might be brought up again in the near future. As for Nanaura...HAHAHA ahhh let's just say Kumeta got me good. Anyway, I...dunno. Even though Eugene seemed to be working with Lucas, I don't think he's really the bad guy Kumeta's making him out to be. Lucas on the other hand...hmm... On a side note, I have no idea what's up with Glen anymore, and it is getting harder and harder to believe that Hiroki is really Bart. You'll get some clues on that in the next volume. |D;

    1. Okay so here's my theory, Zeze is the Prince Eugene, Nanaura is Priest Lucas, and if Hiroki isn't Bart then she's Glen! One of the biggest clues is that she can't use Magic. She says she can't remember how, but it could be that she just can't. In chapter 15 when there's a flashback it's mentioned Glen can't use magic, plus Hiroki wakes up right after that flashback. Also seeing how often it seems the past and present personalities are similiar, doesn't Hiroki seem more like Glen?

Ah, the more I think about it the more I can see Hiroki being Glen. Oh, but if we're going by personalities then Zeze seems more like Priest Lucas and Nanaura is more like Prince Eugene! That may also explain why Prince Eugene might have been the one to write the message, since Zeze already knows Minami is Victoria and Nanaura doesn't, it's possible he wrote the message.

      Delete
  19. Just read the latest chapter, so good! The thing about prince Eugene is that we've seen him but never heard him or get a look at his personality and judging from the known past people their personalities are the same in the present. So he's going to be tricky to find. Most importantly he and Lucas seem to be behind the whole attack so would their own attack kill them? They gave the impression they knew better than to die like that. No idea about Glen...it would suck if he died without magic though...
