So begins our work on volume 2 of
“One Turn Kill of the Dark Partisan.” As far
as this volume is concerned we will be going about releasing whole chapters at
a time as opposed to large fragments as we did before. We do this so as to
avoid accidentally missing bits of text which happened last time. In addition, we
will be going about displaying names in the English way by having it go as
“first name-last name” as opposed to the Japanese “last name-first name” (“Iuli
Asagami” as opposed to “Asagami Iuli”). In the end this translation is meant
for an English speaking audience and, as a translator, I need to translate more
with the reading audience in mind. With all that said, here is the prologue
along with a few illustrations. Chapter 1 is a whopping 62 pages so it may take
some time but please know that it is in the works. Please enjoy!

First of all, thank you very much for the great work done with volume 1 and for this prologue. :D
ReplyDeleteAbout the names, if I'm allowed to give my opinion I think you should continue with the way you translated before, “last name-first name” (“Asagami Iuli”). Even if we are an English speaking audience, the LN is still a Japanese work and is based on their culture, so I think it's better to continue with the “last name-first name”.
I know this is something minor and I'm okay with any way you prefer to translate this, I'm just giving my opinion. Once again, thanks!
